Used Nissan Rogue
Quick answer

A used Nissan Rogue in Canada lists for roughly $7,500 to $36,500 in October 2026. My pick for value is a 2021 to 2022 car at about $17,000 to $27,000.

What does a used Nissan Rogue cost in Canada?

These ranges are built from current average asking prices on CarGurus.ca across Canada, year by year. They cover the bulk of the market: a very high-kilometre car will sit below the range, and a nearly new, dealer-certified one at the top or above it.

Which Rogue generation should you buy?

2014 to 2020: cheap for a reason

The second generation is roomy and comfortable, but the CVT is the weak point. Cheap prices reflect that risk.

2021 and newer: the one to buy

The third generation is a real step up in quality, with a much nicer interior. The 2021 uses a 2.5L engine. From 2022 the Rogue uses a 1.5L turbo three-cylinder, which is more efficient but a newer design with a shorter track record.

Rogue pros and cons

What owners like

  • Comfortable ride and seats
  • Nice interior on 2021 and newer
  • Good value next to RAV4 and CR-V

What owners complain about

  • CVT reliability on older cars
  • Faster depreciation than Toyota and Honda
  • Engine noise under hard acceleration

What should you check before buying a used Rogue?

  • 2014 to 2020: drive it hard enough to feel the CVT. Whining, shudder or slipping are serious red flags, and ask whether the CVT was ever replaced or serviced.
  • 2022 and newer, 1.5L turbo: ask for oil change records and run the VIN for open recalls.
  • All years: test AWD, the screen and phone connection, read the full Carfax, and check open recalls with Transport Canada.

Those are the Rogue-specific items. The general checks for any used car are in my pre-purchase inspection checklist, and before any money moves, run a lien check.

Skip the old one unless it's very cheap and the CVT checks out. A 2021 or 2022 is the smart buy: newer than it looks on price, and a lot of SUV for the money.

Nissan Rogue FAQ

How much is a used Nissan Rogue in Canada?

In October 2026 a used Nissan Rogue in Canada typically lists from about $7,500 for a 2014 to 2016 model to about $36,500 for a 2022 to 2025. The best value right now is a 2021 to 2022 car.

Which used Nissan Rogue year is the best value?

A 2021 to 2022. It is the newer generation, and it costs far less than a comparable RAV4 or CR-V.

Are Nissan Rogue CVTs reliable?
